We are a group of volunteers who are drawn from the local churches in Boscombe, Bournemouth. It is a project set up by Churches Together in Boscombe in 2010.

Similar projects can be found in towns and cities across the UK. ( For more information visit www.cninetwork.org.uk).

We are a group of seventeen at the moment - nine women and eight men who go out onto the Boscombe streets and beaches to support and assist anyone, young or old who, for whatever reason, might find themselves in trouble or in a vulnerable situation.

We have no special authority; we are simply there to support people, whoever they are and whatever their situation, for example by listening, caring, offering practical help or by referring people to other (specialist) agencies who can help them. We enjoy the support of Bournemouth Borough Council and our local Police in this venture. Read more

Meet the Team
An average night out might include: supporting people who are coming out of the night club to find a taxi home, providing water, flip flops, space blankets in case of hypothermia or some plasters! We listen to those who are troubled and those who are not, offer helpful information as necessary and always pick up glass bottles!

Street Angels work in towns and cities across the UK and are linked via the Christian Nightlife Initiatives Network which was launched in July 2008.

"One man gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed."
