Street Angels work in towns and cities across the UK and are linked via the Christian Nightlife Initiatives Network which was launched in July 2008.

What difference do we make?
During the summer months the volunteers are out on the prom and beaches of Southbourne and Boscombe. In that time, calls to the Police from members of the public decreased and families and overseas students were able to enjoy themselves hassle free. In other words, the presence of the Angels has effectively prevented situations which might have involved the police in call-outs and made beach users feel safer. The same applies when, during the remainder of the year the Angels are a presence in Boscombe, particularly the Precinct.

What is happening now?
In order to continue and expand this initiative, the team of volunteers needs to ‘grow’, and we are now actively looking for more people to join this Christian initiative. Anyone who is over 18,and is in sympathy with our Christian ethos, are happy to undergo training, come along to some meetings, be CRB checked and give a few hours of their time every month to go out with the team, would be welcome to ‘be an Angel.’

We are also looking for people willing to join those who support us through prayer. Already we have a growing team who from their homes, keep us in prayer while we are out.
